Feminist Fiber Art is a traveling art exhibit: we organize exhibits and concerts, host craft nights, and sell our work at art markets and on the internet.
This project lives partially online and partially in the physical world. It is a DIY, multidisciplinary, intersectional, community art project focusing primarily on the versatile medium of fiber art. We illustrate how feminists have been using the medium to subvert its history as "women's work" in colorful, fun, and sexually liberated ways. Feminist Fiber Art is an inclusive project, intended to empower minorities and encourage equality through the powerful avenue of creative collaboration.
FFA opened in Boston in August, 2015 and will continue to travel around the world indefinitely. Currently we are organizing events in Boston, Rochester, and Philly.
